2000 GUINEAS 1846

The 38th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Tuesday 28th April 1846 over the Rowley Mile, was Sir Tatton Sykes (late Tibthorpe) (5/1), a bay colt by Melbourne out of a Margrave Mare, owned by Bill Scott. The winner won by 3/4 length, with 1 1/2 between second and third. A field of 6 runners contested the race which was worth £1,450 (Equivalent to £161,000 in 2017)
